CLOSED DURING THE SOCIAL DISTANCING DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC
||THE MISSING PIECE|
Good Company is a social activity program designed for people with mild to moderate memory loss and/or loss of judgement which increases safety risks when alone at home.
Our guests enjoy an environment that is tailored to meet group and individual needs that can include games, crafts, music, dance, conversation, baking, and entertainment. Each person is encouraged to participate at their individual level of functioning and interest.
Caregivers need only be available for contact in an emergency during the program day and pick up their loved one at the close of the program day. Other than that, they are free to spend that time however they choose to meet personal needs.
Good Company is available each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (except holidays) from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and is located in the fellowship hall of Alma’s First Presbyterian Church.
Lunch is provided, however, guests are welcome to bring their own if they prefer. Both refrigeration and microwave are available for use.
Our hourly rate is $5.00 and must be paid by cash or check unless attending using VA funding.
Applicants are offered a free assessment which includes a screening by a licensed nurse and an interview by program staff to learn more about the individual and permit appropriate program planning to meet their needs. They are also offered a free day’s attendance to help determine level of interest.
Good Company is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for our community. We strive to help them thrive by:
- providing a safe and comfortable environment for social programs.
- stimulating mind, body, and soul.
- building meaningful relationships.
- conducting programs with compassion.
- attending to each guest in a respectful manner that enhances dignity.
- providing worry-free opportunities for families and caregivers to enjoy activities of their choice while their loved ones are engaged in a program they will want to revisit again and again.
