STEWARDSHIP

Stewardship and Per Capita Contributions Dedication Sunday for our 2017 Stewardship Campaign will be Sunday, November 13. Please bring your pledge cards to be dedicated that day in our worship service. Don’t worry if you’ve already submitted yours. They will be blessed, too! Like all Presbyterian Churches, First Presbyterian Alma annually pays a Per Capita assessment. This charge funds the operations of General Assembly, the Synod, and Presbytery. Next year the charge per member will be $26.17, for a total expense of $5,835.91. As you think about your pledge for the coming year, please remember that there are two ways you can help the church meet its per capita assessment. Many members choose to make a separate contribution in addition to their annual pledge. While the pledge envelope box typically includes a special “Per Capita” envelope in its January series, the church welcomes per capita contributions at any time of the year. In fact, if you haven’t made your $26 contribution toward 2016’s assessment, it’s not too late! If you prefer, though, it is also possible to build the per capita expense into your annual pledge. The $26.17 per member charge for next year can be funded by a $.50 per week supplemental pledge. So if you have two members in your family and want to fold the per capita assessment into your annual pledge, you can do this simply by increasing your weekly pledge by $1. Any contribution you make to the per capita expense will help our church advance its mission. We are deeply grateful for your consideration of this ongoing need. The Stewardship Committee
