POSADA

A Posada for Jesus

December 16, 2012, 7:00 p.m.

In the tradition of Mexico, the Christmas message is all about “welcome.” Mary and Joseph sought a welcome in Bethlehem; the shepherds and angels and magi welcomed the baby Jesus; and Jesus welcomes all who believe in Him. A Posada is a welcome—a warm nurturing welcome—it starts with the Christmas message and ends with happy fellowship. With the warmly welcomed help of Luz Smith, the Presbythespians held a Posada for this year’s Christmas program. This was a simple program presenting the Good News through narration and simple mime, followed by a Piñata for the children and Christmas refreshments for all. The festivities were held in Swigart Fellowship Hall beginning at 7 p.m. on Sunday, December 16. A great way to welcome the Holy Family and celebrate Jesus’ birth with family and friends in true Posada tradition.
