October 2016 Dear Friends, The Stewardship Committee is responsible for guiding the congregation to act out of faith with generous gifts of time, talent and resources. Stewardship has the greatest meaning when we choose to give to honor God. We are family and all are called to be God’s family. In a family everyone contributes and every contribution matters. God has given us different gifts and collectively we make a larger contribution than any one of us make individually. The theme this year is One Spirit/Many Gifts. Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service but the same Lord; and there are varieties of working, but it is the same God who inspires them all in every one. To each is given the manifes-tation of the Spirit for the common good. Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it. I Cor. 12:4-7, 27 We value and need your contribution. The work of the Church is best accomplished by a community of faith working together for common goals. Giving generously is an act of faith. It represents faith that God will always provide for us and faith that our gifts, when combined with the gifts of others, will be sufficient for the work of the Church. What steps can you take in the next year to use your gifts? You will receive a stewardship packet within the next few weeks. Please review your past commitments and prayerfully consider how to use your gifts for God’s purpose. In Christ, The Stewardship Committee Ann Baker Ken Bruza Michael Selmon Tim Lambrecht Tom Brackbill
